To paraphrase Hex slightly.... ....made me think, the mods do a fair bit of work around here, I've seen alot of forums go to hell with power hungry mods banning everyone and axing posts, or simply neglecting forums and them turning into flame wars. I've been here a fairly long while and have had afew run ins with the mods myself, but all in all they ain't perfect but they do a bangup job on the whole. I'll get flamed for being a kiss-arse I'm sure, but seriously good job so far lads, dont let it slide!
*slurp* In all seriousness, I totally agree. While I haven't always agreed with decisions of the mods (and there are threads active in the forums at the moment that would be gone if it was my decision), I appreciate the effort they put in in keeping this place nice for us all, and respect the fact that ultimately it's their decision, not mine. I'll agree with that - most forums I've gone to are either dead, become totally NSFW, or a massive flame pit. In fact this is the only long standing one left, and the other forum I frequent is Arnies Airsoft The mods here have done a good job - If it wasn't the case I wouldn't have frequented the same place for 3 years, with no thoughts of moving on. Awww you guys So much stuff goes on behind the scenes it can seem like nobody notices, but then I guess the sign of us doing a good job is when you don't realise we're doing anything I get so frustrated on other forums when I can't correct spelling in thread titles (yeah, I'm the one who does that) or move posts to the correct forums.
yeah, its the mods that keep a forum going. Yes a forum needs members but when things go down hill its the mods that straighten it all out again. to be a good mod i think they need to look at both sides of the arguement and give a balanced view, and not be cock about it.

I think we all do, in our own corners of the forum. My haunt for it is usually Hardware. Thanks all. It's not a thankless task really, because we keep an awesome forum here really, when you look at other forums with a similar theme to this one I'm glad we keep it tidy. ...And we get awesome mod powers too.

I think nexxo is letting things slide and get out of control and hanlon is always spamming the board with his ways- I think he's major on a different ip address myself I get the feeling krikkit is always following me for sea grogin posts too
I moderated a board by myself for a few years, and all I had was people posting undesirable content and bitching about how it was better before I arrived and they could get away with it (and that was one damn liberal board). In conclusion: Thank you for all you do.
Dam right. I've been on forums totaly screwed by a bad mod. Half the forum left in disgust I got fed up with a mod taking the high road and editing my posts, I asked why, and the bugger deleted that. I went from 1000 posts a year to about 50. The forum just lost the "buzz" it had, while it didn't kill it, it's a shadow of it's former self. So Big thanks to mods here for not being, over zealous, post editing, sanctimonious, spelling nazis... most of the time
