Seeing as there are a lot of options out there now, I was wondering what people are using for monitoring there servers, printers, networks etc.

I currently use nagios core 3.3.1 with a lot of custom python and bash scripts, nagiosgrapher so I can see historical data easily and MRTG to monitor networking.

I use the combination above both at home and work and it seems to be working well for me.

    What are other people using?

MOM, SCOM, SCOM 2012, RANCID, Catci, ntop, WhatsUpGold, and a few custom-coded SNMP utilities such as a VPN status checker for Cisco ASA firewalls, and some syslog parsing stuff.

I use icinga + check_mk, icinga is just a different wrapper for nagios.

I think check_mk is a godsend for nagios, it makes everything much simpler, and their multisite is great.
