Rumour mill... http://m.tweaktown.com/news/20356/mirror_s_edge_sequel_to_be_frostbite_2_powered/index.html
with the over-the-wall animation already built in BF3, i am not surprised. BF3 also have that sports game animation system? so hopefully ME2 will feel even better. Mirror's Edge 2 will be awesome. my ringtone is of Mirror's Edge theme song. can't wait.
Try to keep up with the latest news: http://www.bit-tech.net/news/gaming/2011/06/09/ea-we-haven-t-killed-mirror-s-edge/1 That article also suggests ME2 will use the Frostbite 2 engine.
As long as they keep the styling of the first and lose the combat (or at least sort it) I'll be a happy man.
Awww, well...I'm going out to get the Orange Box and Brink today...I may just toss a fiver towards this....Would hurt would it?
first one is brilliant! what are you talking about? play it like Assassin's Creed rooftop running, rather than CoD's FPS. never try to pick up a gun.
I thought the combat was fine as it was - it was so bad that you never wanted to use it, which was kinda the point as it made you avoid/run away from people instead of engage them in a fight. All they need to do is remove the few sections which pretty much require you to pick up a gun and shoot people. Though TBH I wouldn't mind just more of what the first game offered, so I hope they don't change it too radically.
I've yet to complete Mirrors Edge 1, I only ever get so far and then end up going back to the starting maps Also, re: Brink, DLC is out today and it is available for about 7 quid.
Ahh thanks, may pick up the orange box and get half life instead, but deffo picking up Mirrors Edge, gotta get the story before the 2nd one comes out ; D
Brinks very overhyped, there's only one multiplayer setting per retails content wich is 8 missions played from either rebels or police side. Complete objectives, and or hinder the enemy team to complete them. The smart move system and the classes are allright, but there's no real pleasure in leveling up as all the rewards are cosmetic. It could of been good with say, more multiplayer modes and weapon/perk unlocks. Also the engine is horrible, I tried it on 3 different systems as of a couple weeks ago and it feels like its running 20 fps, when fraps says i've got 80-120 on all 3 systems. It feels very rushed, and should of been a 24.99/29.99 game at launch.
So will that mean I can now break through walls with my legs? I mean that is what FB2 does good right? Destruction.
When I first got Mirrors edge, I played through it once, and then left it. I then came back to it earlier in the year and was completely hooked, played through it on all difficulties, then played it another 2 or 3 times again,
