What exactly does this word mean these days as it seems to get attached to everything? I was in Boot opticians waiting for my examination and was looking at the frames on offer, none designer and designer and I could see of feel no difference. Most of the 'designer' names I have never heard of anyway. I know some folk are turned on by the designer tag but what exactly does it mean?
Designer at one point related to the few fashion houses that lead the way in new designs, which were then copied by the high street chains. Now I'd say it simply means more expensive, with an emblem - thats not entirly true, but often you'll find the designer brands are all pumping out the same stuff but with a different badge.
Before "Designer" there was "Turbo" Meaningless marketing, since a designer designed the "designer" product, ergo everything is "designer"
Yep heaven forbid well maybe not heaven but something is forbidding at the moment. http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=291497
