Glad I pre-ordered this instead of the hideous Xbox One. The price is spot on - I have to cancel it if it went higher than I would consider but 349 squids is OK. What about the HDD size though. I missed it.

Sony pretty much destroyed Microsoft. That conference was a videogaming A-bomb. (well except for the part where the ACIV demo crashed...)

Also, Sony was nice enough to post a useful instructional video about how their used game policy works

    Yea, PS4 won bug time.
The only sucky thing is that now you need to pay for online play. At least they said it on the stage. So they were up front.

Yeah nothing left to speculation, which is great. I just find it so funny when MS released their giant convoluted guide to how used games, DRM, etc will work on the One, and Sony releases the above video. Adam Boyes is a PR genius.

Good thing with PS+ though, is yeah even though now we need a sub to play online, they offer such great value. Drive Club being a free game at launch with your PS+ subscription... that's huge.

Gaf is going bananas, it's hilarious to watch.

Backwards compatible? Or will it have PS3 games on their store? There's still some I want to play but I'll hold off for PS4 if it can.

    I loved that video :hehe:

They have certainly priced it right this time and looks like they have really taken on feedback and any drawbacks from when the first PS3 launched and ensured it don't happen with PS4, i say well done Sony. Design wise, its ok. Looks more cooler than the xbox one

PS3 games in the cloud as the PS4 isn't hardware compatible at all with the PS3

I'm still in awe at the crowds reaction when they announced their policies on used games and online authentication.

    I did giggle

    Nice, thanks :cooldude:
Its going to be interesting to see how much customer loyalty comes into play at launch time, what with Xbox currently holding the largest market share ATM.

gamers going ` woohoo` - but gamers don't publish games , and publishers are looking at the bottom line of $$$$

and who will bring in more $$$$?

Microsoft. Hence the Billion $ exlusives.

Read the news on this via Twitter as I awoke this morning, MS have been dealt a bloody nose imo.

Not only does it look better (subjective I know), but it sounds much less complicated than the farce that is XBO.

Well I'll be keeping that PS4 pre-order then; MS have been sucker punched for sure.

Sony's console starts to look pretty decent. Price was definitely a pleasant surprise.

Hopefully Microsoft's endeavor will be an epic failure, I'm crossing fingers for something like 30 000 units sold in total worldwide.

Depends - if PS4 outsells X1 maybe 2-to-1 then publishers will have to think again. MS can drive exclusives to drive sales, but it's a small part of the overall gaming business.

I do agree there , but look at the way EA have gone , more draconian measures.

but someone told me recently , we`ll be seeing £70+ for games soon
