    Website should be up shortly

    keep the faith.

    Matt

4/6/04 - I'M NOW TAKING ORDERS FOR GREEN AND WHITE DISPLAYS ONLY. :D PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING BEFORE ORDERING.

My website is not up yet, but please email me your order or any enquiries. orders will be dealt with on first come first serve basis in batches. If you have already e-mailed me then you are high on the list. If you're ordering please specify delivery type, if you choose not to have recorded insured delivery I CAN NOT be held responsible for damage or loss in transit.

The 20 x 4 white display is a large character model as that is all i can get in white at the moment. please e-mail me for dimensions of this or any of the displays.

You can choose not to have a power switch or brightness controll which will reduce the price by £1.00 You can also choose the colour of the pointer on the contrast control: red, green, yellow, blue, white, gray, orange. (the ones in my pictures are blue)

You will need a parallel extension cable if you don't have one. these are £1.04 from ebuyer.com, I can supply them , but it will work out cheaper if I don't and orders will be quicker.

Payment in check or bank transfer, pay-pal possibly coming soon.

Those who have already contacted me will be emailed shortly.

3/6/04 - NEW PRICES, PICTURES AND SHIPPING PRICES!! sorry it took so long, likely questions answered below:

    Display with PCB not mounted.

Dispaly with PCB mounted, ready to go.

display working, left to right: power switch, contrast adjust, brightness adjust.
    screen close-up, brightness at maximum.

    Back of unit, showing connectors.

Q and A: (post/e-mail any questions not answered and i will)

Q1, The PCB is not the same size as the display.
A1, This is because I ran out of copper clad board and had to use an off-cut, the actual models will not have this problem. also, that wasn't a question.

Q2, Why is it only displaying one line of boxes?
A2, This is the test patern, which is displayed when connected, this shows the display works. I used this as I havn't yet downloaded the software.

Q3, Are the knobs and the switch standard?
A3, Yes, although the contrast is pointless as it barely makes a difference. but i will still put the potentometer in if people want it.

Q4, How does it connect to the computer?
A4, New picture shows back of unit. It has a molex plug for power and a parallel plug, you will need a parallel extension cable to connect it to a computer, they're about £1 from ebuyer.

the display would fit, but there would need to be space above and below for the circuit board, I could do a 1x16 display for £10ish and that would fit entirely in a floppy bay.

Yeah it doesn't matter about space above/below, I have 2 free floppy bays ;)

    Actually...would the 2x20 fit in 2 floppy bays? :D

I might be interested as well, what kind of US prices would that equal out too? Also would be more so interested in the one that would fit into the single floppy bay.

    hello all,

now that i know i have some interest i can begin experimenting.

shastings: 2 x 20 will fit but need space all around, so you'd have to remove the drive cage.

pookey head: LCD's are mostly made be Seiko and ampire (used in Matrix Orbital displays), standard backlighting (green bg/black text), but (at slight cost) I'll be able to change colours of some displays. inverting the colours, again at slight cost.

US questions: I will deliver to US but the cost of delivery may make it not worth it :blah: I'll check prices.

SanDmaN: No graphical/VFD at the moment, although I will look into it.

evil_spork: White will be possible, a 2 x 16 will fit but will probably use up all 3 bays.

I'm working on a little website that will allow you to choose the exact type of display you want and give the cost, will post link when completed.
