everything looks fine to me in your picture in Chrome. It's just the font rendering engine at work. Check out with Firefox, the font matches the one in Windows. It gives you a more unified experience with your system. Beside, you'll also reduce power consumption, and resources, as Chrome is getting version after version more and more bloated, even Chrome fans are starting to complain about it. Reviews even confirms that Chrome reduces battery life significantly on mobile system. And IE, Firefox, Opera, and even Safari doesn't do this.
Other than the text sitting on the line, it doesn't look particularly different to me. They did change how Chrome renders text though http://googlechromereleases.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/stable-channel-update.html It looks the same for me between Chrome and Opera (on the last update) i.e. the text sits above the line not on it.
I've definitely noticed the font looking different (and possibly smaller?) I'll speak with a member of staff to see if anything can be done behind the scenes. I imagine the answer will be no but it may be worth an ask. GK
Take a look at this: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/l5mK6fbPtKY I don't know which of these things I did to fix it, just kind a tried everything and then it worked I think the app that solved it was this one: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/killvetica/ngoapdiehjkkjaggobgikjhjlnpoipfg EDIT: and in chrome://flags DirectWrite was disabled. Disabling it solved some earlier bug in chrome a couple of years ago, but enabling it again should also fix the problem.
Yeah it's the new font rendering engine for Chrome. I'd actually argue that BEFORE, it was broken. It used to hate helvetica on Windows computers.
It affected Scan's website and a couple of others for me, Sam. It seems to take a few visits to flush the cache and have an effect though. Yep, that fixed it for me - took a couple of minutes and a browser refresh, but all is well. Cheers!
I've noticed the forums looking different on another forum, which, is also a vBulletin site, So for me, it's a vBulletin/Chrome issue. Sam
Another member on another VBB site im on (gearslutz.com/board?styleid=10) that is using Chrome also reported issues the other day..... Seems Chrome is causing alot of issues lately..........
