Case Mod - In Progress PROJECT ASTRAY [CoolerMaster MasterCase PRO 5]

Hey guys It's me again! I started this project mod last May 10, 2016. I'm making a build for cooler master case modding competition, this time the past project called Project 45Deg will on pause for a while. I just need to concentrate for this new project and I got only few days to finish it. And it is my first time to join the event, my build is a little inspired with gundam toys. Astray, I caught that name on a gundam toy. And I know that I got only a few weeks to finish this build, I hope that I can make it to the finals.

Memory modules: Avexir Red Tesla 4x4GB 2666mhz
GPU: Asus GTX 970 Strix DCUII

So before we proceed to modding, let me take a quick post of the chassis.

 

So this is my initial sketch for the build, I'll add more details once it almost done. I know some of the concept are same with my on going project 45deg.









Disassembling the chassis to make a inverted motherboard position.

Ok, I just finished the motherboard bracket.






Next, I will cut the back panel..







Cutting the back panel cover... I used 4.5mm acrylic sheet.

 

Test fit...!



Start to sleeve these cables, I'll make it all black!



I used 3mm black sleeve from PinoyRIGZ.

 

I just need to cut these grills and replace with a see through acrylic sheet.

Hey guys! I will paint these motherboard heatsinks into white.
I just removed the ROG aluminum logo



Goodbye labels

Now I finished the north bridge heatsinks, why just only the north bridge I've done today? because I need to buy some piece of acrylic sheet for the south bridge logo.

Now here is the result. I made some custom vinyl stickers for detailing and not get bored with the plain paint.

I got some little update for my front panel and fans.. I put a fan guard and the I made a custom Astray logo. Hope you'll like it.

So as of now, while I'm waiting for the Bitspower items that I'll be using for the water cooling loop I just made the side covers of the chassis.

Hey guys! I'm done cutting the front radiator/fan holder









Moved and I made a radiator/fan holder.





Fan testing....







I got a little update of my backpanel, I changed it to aluminum sheet for making sure that the chassis is still tough and durable.

This time, while waiting for the arrival of my water cooling parts from Bitspower I'll make the side panel wings and adding some details to my build.

I decided to use the stock cooler of the gpu, I painted it to matte white because maybe the Bitspower water cooling parts are still in the customs right now. That is my bad news today, but for now I'll be using other water cooling items to complete the build..







So for now this is the build, nearly done. All I need is to wait the final mod which is the side panel wings and some add ons on the PSU cover/shroud.

 

PSU Cover is done, now the last mod are the wings..
