Build something that I will not have to upgrade much in the future, and something that will be a pleasure of building, as it is my last. I love the simplistic style of Lian Li's so much. I have used LL all the way back to Citrus. Here is the build log back at OCN, more pictures.
ready for a heart transplant. well... a couple hearts all wires tucked in simple front bezel. what wires on the mobo? single file sata. only could have the 24 pin sleeved. it is very cramped in this area. getting the gpus in. and a little mock up again of the cpu heatsinks. added the cooler master psu drive bay controller. and a nice panel to hide the wires. Heatsinks removed. took some metal off another case i am modding and made some more panels to cover up wires. 2 HD 6870s. i need to upgrade these. this ram does work together. but the kingston is just a place holder. all ready for cpus and an os
Upgraded the 6870s to a single 7870. and got 3 typhoons to add to the mix stumbled upon a great deal; trade a 6870 for a 7870 but when i was trying to get them into slots 1 and 5, i had to cut the heatsink for the card to fit correctly.
and we are all caught up, here it is as it sits. I have alot of metal work to do yet, but i need to find the time to do it. I changed out the polished aluminum with holes for a more sanded matte finish, to make it a little cleaner. I redid all the cables and really got them tidy. The back was a pain to cable manage, but i think i did well. There are 2 ssds there on the back of the 5.25 bays. time to make the last pieces of accents. A cover with a (possible) logo to cover the basement, and a cover for the 3 fans on the top of the case.
revisited this a bit. Threw some water at it and temps are crazy good. Res can be seen from the inside of the case. Had to also cut off the top of the EK bridge. It had a lot of extra material and i needed the room.
I kinda really liked the aircoolers. I do like the addition of the LED ram. It makes such a difference. Love this build. 16c/32t goodness. What do you use it for mainly?
It has always had the Crucial ram, but I have a photo/videography hobby on the side. But since I mainly use it everyday, I game on it as well.
Really pretty ending. I absolutely hate that all these sweet 2011 boards only have two USB 3's though
