What sort of "horror"? Scary horror? Light horror (Scream etc.)? Grossout horror (Saw XXVI)?

If you've never seen them: american remake of The Ring; The Shining; 1408; Duel.

    Scarey stuff ideally.

    Seen all them Boiled.

    Ring and shinig are ace.

However the shinging is very long so might give that a miss.

If all else fails i have The Thing on Blu Ray

Paranormal Activity or Blair Witch Project, if you haven't seen them already. I love those two and the homemade nature of it all.

I found the Shining quite boring.

But you liked Blair Witch Project? :jawdrop: I liked them both, but I'd definitely say BWP is the more boring of the two, and possibly one of the slowest films I've ever seen (narrowly beaten by THE ****ING GODFATHER PART 2).

The Shining is what I'd consider to be a perfect horror film, structurally, because it has a slow buildup, which a lot of modern films lack. I blame the well-documented 21st-century shortening of attention spans...

    +1, a surprisingly awesome film.

From the brain of Stephen King no less.

It's tense! The Shining isn't tense, it's just weird. And completely random. That's what I saw anyway.

It's a bit obscure, but there is an underlying plot as to the seemingly-random apparitions and events. I know what you mean, though. I'm told the book makes more sense, but I haven't gotten round to reading it.

Another Stephen King, incidentally. It's amazing how many good books he's written in addition to his infamous spate of garbage.

    It's vaguely scary.

Like, the actual movie isn't scary, but I still got nightmares from the content.

orzorzorz sums up what you'll be seeing.

If anything its funny how they took such a disgusting concept and portrayed it so stereotypically and without tension. I mean; the German doctor dude. :grr:

    Ermm... 28 DAYS LATER
