so i was looking around the great depth that is the internet for ideas to watercool my RV02 the original plan was to mod a 560mm ( 140x4 ) rad to the base of my case, then i stumbled across this beast http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop...m-180mm-Triple-Radiator--Black-pid-15191.html triple 180mm rad http://www2.picturepush.com/photo/a/6858100/1024/Anonymous/IMG-2857.jpg it may require a little modding but it looks really awesome only really usefull for the rv02 / ft02 and scratchbuilding currently hopefully this should kick start the 180mm fan market as the choice is silverstone / phobya exept the phobya looks like the same fan as the silverstone but with red blades figured id Share
I've considered that, but the standard RV-02 has a solid-alu Drivecage that goes down to the fans. I'd have to Dremel it to death to even get it to fit.
I'd rather not tear my raven apart just yet. I'll wait till I've started to hit the limits of what I can cool using air alone with those AP181's.
But the Raven and FT02 are designed to be air coolers, they're some of the best around for it! I'd suggest springing for a new case if you want to W/C it and selling the Raven on the marketplace.
Would fit. But the key issue is that you're adding another 30mm to the fan-height, which means you're cutting short the amount of space there is to route cables through those hand holes, and the amount of space you can use to fit GPUs.
If I'm looking at my case properly, the far screw holes on the 180's are actually under the motherboard tray. I'm not sure how you'd fit the thing in directly over the 180's. This is how I've got mine setup, as you can see having a triple rad would mean it'd be difficult to get certain cards in. Wiring the 24pin was a nightmare, although it'd probably be easier without push pull(which I deemed necessary because the AP's have weak static pressure).
You have to pull the default fan-mounts out to fit the radiator properly. To be honest; if I was cooling this thing internally; I'd rip the AP181's out and use Phobya Nano 180mms anyway.
I am in the same sort of situation. I am thinking of watercooling in my rv02. I am thinking of removing the 180mm fans and chucking in a 60mm thick 360 rad with one set of fans and with my hd6970 there are millimeters to spare!! I just got to think about rad and pump e.c.t.
I did do a cpu only loop in the FT02 before but it was a single 120mm up top, now i'll will be doing the gpu as well but im waiting to see what the new nvidia cards are like plus deciding on the pump, res, tubing and fittings so might be a while yet!.
