Introduction: This is an accurate reproduction of a '800 stagecoach in every detail. Some changes were necessary, it's obvious, to insert the components as best I can. Here is a reference of the stagecoach history: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/stagecoach. I started working aluminium road signs, size 60×60×0,3 cm, kindly given by a friend of mine. Then I rounded the two sides using my great jigsaw Proxxon DSH.
I brazewelding the two sides' convexity with Durafix welding torch and rod then I used epoxy resin to have a strong blocking.
With the Optimum milling machine I realized little doors and convexity using the same technique of parts anchoring.
Given that the sides are 3 mm depht I prefered to realize the outlines so as to increase the material layer on the fixing spots with lateral sides that are a 5 mm depht single-piece. Let's do a foursides' assembly test.. The lineup seems perfect!
The upper part is good so now let's realize the frame using 5 mm depht aluminium sheet to create supporting metal struts.
At the end the execution of many details that will be part of the frame with 2 and 1 mm depht brass sheets.
Nice milling machine Marco Looking at the pieces it seems you have some schemas to build up the stagecoach. Am I wrong ?
Hello Kappa, thank you! I initially had seen a horse-drawn in a flea market but this was too small. In the end I decided to base myself on the Wells Fargo model where I proceeded to do the sketches so as to have an internal space large enough for e-ATX motherboards. I have complied with all the proportions and the historical characteristics of this stagecoach. With all these pieces it is essential to number each piece and to have a plan in mind
Thank you ! Yes, old traffic signs were replaced. I have a friend of mine who works in this area and gave them to me. These signs are made of aluminum so with a sander I have brought back them to the natural state of the raw material without spending more money for aluminum.
This is a really unique mod and obviously one quite personal to you - are you interested in stage coaches specifically, or is it that period of history?
Thank you ! I think that a modder used a lot by observing their work. I have a passion for this stagecoach after seeing a flea market a horse-drawn simple. From now on movies west I look at them with greater passion
Nice. Different, too. Just lately I had the idea of making a mini Airstream trailer for an ITX build. Sadly I have no time, no tools, no talent working with metal and no money. So that kind of ruined it
Thank you ! It 's true, it is a mod totally different from what you see. Build cases for PC is my passion and I'm slowly equipping of many machines. Lately I bought a cnc pantograph that I will use for the next project. In this mod I have made many pieces by hand where fortunately the manual is my highlight. Only passion can give you patience in building pieces also relatively long and difficult.
