    I have a AMD 4800+ 2.59ghz dual core processor.

Its running the single tray client at the moment.

Is there an advantage of runing the SMP client?

Both core's seem to be 100% full load all ready with the system tray.

    noobie question :p sorry :)

SMP will give more points. Any GPU's running on that rig?

Either MPICH or you could try the VMWARE version

    Is UAC turned off?
Do you have a password on the PC?

Try an uninstall & reboot then reinstall.

Usually it's caused by a lack of .net 2 but Vista should have it installed already.

By default it's 100%, did you remember to create a shortcut to the .exe with -smp in the target?

    Mate,

Search the folding forum here for "Notfred", and you should get about 5 hits. In the bottom one, there is a link from Saspro to a VMWare guide for setting up VMWare clients - it is a piece of piss (I'm picking up on Saspro's technical jargon now!) to install and configure - I was worried that I knew nothing about Linux so wouldn't be able to work the VMs, but the guy who wrote the Notfred client has made it all self-contained, so you need zero Linux skill to run this. If you have Virtualisation enabled in your Bios, the VM will detect it is a 64 bit setup and start two Linux SMP clients automatically, doubling your points compared to a windows only smp client. It is no harder to set up than a normal Stanford client (your woes with windows SMP aside!) I did it on my dual Xeon Dell, but it doesn't support 64bit, so wouldn't start the SMP clients - but it was smart enough to start 4 normal clients for me instead!

Edit: found the VMWare guide link - http://www.maximumpc.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=92133 provided by Saspro

    Give it a try!

    Craig...
