this is Bit-tech, with so many hardware enthusiastics, there must be someone out there happy to help.

    are you:
    -a Folder?
    -have Windows server?
-have a low power machine that's on 24/7?

    Requirement:
    -must be on 24/7
    -Windows only
-willing to open a port (27260 to be precise)
    -willing (or have) no-ip setup

please contact me. this is for hosting Battlefield Bad Company 2 (and Battlefield 3 later on) admin layer program, ProCon.

benefits to you would be recognition from BFBC2 players, admin access to the server and lots of virtual cookies :)

(for Folders, this program will need to have higher priority than your folding client, it doesn't use a lot of cycles, but need to be very responsive)

When Nightbreed was running the BC2 server for us he had secure hosting for procon (or whatever admin plugin he used). I'll grab him on steam this evening and see if he can help out.

    that'd be great. thanks.

Fluidic, it's more about having reliable plugins rather than overwatching and admin-ing the server.

Wyx, Nightbreed is sorting this, he already has Clanforge access. He will grab you on Steam for sorting the finer details.

So how do you control it?

    I have a Windows 2008 Box on 24/7.

@tehBoris PM me and I can sort you some hosting in exchange for a banner mate :)

thanks, Votick. it's sorted. Nightbreed sorted me out with a remote computer.

the hosted ProCon runs as a layer between server and other procon admin clients. so control procon by connecting to the server layer. just needed a port to be opened.

I don't see in the OP where it says it's for bit-tech.

And just because OP doesn't specifically spell something out for you, you have to go and assume **** about him.

Are you suggesting that one should know every thing about a topic of discussion without the topic including all the information?

Sorry, i was in a bad mood when i wrote that.

But it does seem like a good idea to know what's what before adding a reply like that. For instance wuyanxu over there - he happens to be an admin for said bit-tech server.

Also if you followed the BC2 server thead in this subforum, which is not an unreasonable assumption considering you're posting here, you would be aware of the situation that resulted in this thread.
