Tips Someone wants to license one of my videos - Is this legit and what should I expect?

This was in my inbox last night...

Is this likely to be real or is it some sort of scam, and if it's real should i expect some sort of compensation? What is reasonable to ask for? How does this process work?

Googling "science of stupid iwc" throws up many references to the show, the channel and the company that have emailed you.

The production company have said to the researchers 'find us a surfing clip where X happens', the researchers go and find this and license the clip so they can legally use it.

Licensing means they want to pay you to use your clip. I'd reply back being quite generic, along the lines of 'yes its my clip, I own the copyright to it and yes I'd discuss licensing it to you' to see what they say.

I suppose she's hoping to your agreement for free (or fame, or a DVD copy of the show at max.)
