Hello, I am looking for software that will allow mass mailing to a customer list and allows tracking. So far I have seen groupmail and Sendblaster. Any one used software of this sort?
I've used Sendblaster and found it to be simple and effective. Only problem with html mails is that they fake the address header so some email packages automatically filter to spam. There are so many different mail servers / filters / email packages it is almost impossible to stop this happening. I believe it should also be possible to get outlook or similar to act as a newsletter mailer (this will stop the faking of the mail header as it will come direct from your address, you can then schedule it to run when you are out / at night) but it depends on the size of your mail out. You will also need to consider a specialist bulkmail smtp server as your normal isp might block you if you start sending large quantity newsletters via their server. I know sendblaster will sell you this service but you might also consider an email marketing company http://www.ecircle.com/ (i almost used them - seemed like nice people but then the project didn't happen).
