Just a quickie - as the title says, is a 750W PSU enough to run 2 670s overclocked in SLI, plus an overclocked 2500K and all the rest of the usual system gubbins?

Conflicting evidence on the tubes suggests min 700W or min 850W, so bit wide-ranging.

Okay - cheers. The two I was looking at are both XFX ones with single rail technology.

Overkill in truth my own system with 2 680s draws only between 400-480 from the wall ( i7 950 CPU overclocked to 4ghz) sandybridge is more power efficient so you should see less.

Yeah - with my rig (OC'd 4770K and SLI 780s) I have this (read using a power monitor thing)

    Idle - 100W
    100% CPU only (just Prime95) - 230W
    100% GPU only (just Furmark) - 670W
    100% CPU and 100% GPU (Prime 95 and Furmark) - 760W

    So you'd be fine :D

Assuming a good quality PSU with a strong 12v rail you will be fine. I used to run overclocked Asus DCII 670's in SLI on my ToughpowerXT 675w PSU without a single issue.

These are actually the ones I'm going to be running, so good to know - thanks.

Cheers to all, guys. Appreciate the assistance. I've ordered a 750W XFX XXX edition as didn't see the point paying an extra £20 for the Black edition. Heard some tales about fan noise so will see how that goes ("play it by ear", in effect? :D Sorry...had to...).

Should be plenty. Also, PSU fan noise usually isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be.
