    If you have broadband (as most of us do), you can use something called pipe-lining to speed up firefox. This allows multiple objects to be downloaded at once. below is everything, do at your own risk :)

    Here's what you need to do:

    * Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return (you probably want to do this in a seperate tab so you can check back here).
    * Type "network.http" in the filter field, and change the following settings (double-click on them to change them):
    * Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
    * Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining' to "true"
    * Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to a number like 30. This will allow it to make 30 requests at once.

    Right click a blank space in the window and Create a new integer value called "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set it to "0".

    Right Click a blank space in the window and create a new Boolean Then enter "content.interrupt.parsing" in the New boolean value pop-up window and click OK, then set this to "true" when prompted.

    Restart your browser, it should be noticeably faster...

    Enjoy faster forums guys ;)

    I heard about these settings before. Here's hoping they make it a proper system in Firefox 4.

    try nglayout.initialpaint.delay == 5

    Firefox 4 is already fast... I did it, and I saw a a bit of a speed increase (visually), so it's welcome change, and I like it.

    I've applied it at work and at home.

    Not much different at work, although I do have a direct link onto a proper 50mb link to the internet (proper as in not cable, its a business leased line, fiber with an ethernet convertor on the end :baby:), and I've yet to test it properly at home, but I will!
