Other WD Smartware or Windows 7 Backup?

    I've got a WD external USB 3.0 HD for a friends build. It comes with WD Smartware software which includes backup functionality.

    Has anyone used this and is it better than Windows 7 Backup?

    I am handing over the rig to him tomorrow afternoon so can anyone tell me?

    Never mind, after reading the horror stories around the web about the WD Smartware software, I think I'll steer clear.

    I was hoping that it would be a smarter and simpler backup solution for a non-technical friend but I think it will just cause grief.

    Windows 7 Backup it is then.
