    Not my pic, I'll take a few once my Cheesecake is done.

    Crust
    * 1 1/4 cups graham cracker crumbs
    * 1/4 cup crushed Oreo cookies
    * 1/4 cup sugar
    * 6 tablespoons butter, melted
    * 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter

    Filling

    * 3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
    * 1 cup sugar
    * 1 cup sour cream
    * 3 eggs, lightly beaten
    * 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
    * 1 cup chocolate fudge topping, divided
    * 6 peanut butter cups, cut into small wedges

    Can you say decadent? Buying the ingredients after work today. It's going to be epic.

    For those who want proper measurements, you'll have to have a look here. :)

    I hate recipes where there's no weights involved - surely that's the easiest way?

    I have recipes from past generations that say 'handful of flour' My hand - Marilyn's hand, my 5 yr old granddaughter's hand.

    Could be worse.

    Still works with no weights, the idea behind it is it's just a ratio of x parts whatever to 2x whatever else to x/2 something else etc... baking isn't really that much of an exact science. You learn to judge it by eye most of the time.

    Half the time I never bother to break out the scales unless it's something silly complicated.

    Silly metric people...

    I made the cake tonight! It's chilling in the fridge. I'll take some pics before the first slice. It's smells scrumptious.

    I cant come to bit-tech without getting hungry now. Time to go to the local superstore and buy a cake, since its too late for me to consider making one.

    Props on making the cheesecake!

    Have. To. Make. That looks insanely delicious. Cheesecake is just so damn good. And combining it with Reese cups! That's like crack.

    Did you get that recipe off a site?

    Actually it is. Ask any baker. Baking is chemistry, cooking is soul. Anyone that doesn't weigh, doesn't get the same results every time. Besides, weights scale up better; one cake -> 20 cakes. Trust me, I had a year long baking class in culinary school. It gets beaten into you.

    Here are some quick pics of the cake!

    Sorry they're not the sharpest, not very good lighting that early in the morning. I'll get a pic of the inside once I slice it. Should be some good layering.

    Link to recipe: http://www.recipezaar.com/Peanut-Butter-Cup-Cheesecake-147444 although I modified it to be gluten-free. I added the ring of chunky peanut butter around the outer rim. I plan on arranging some chocolate chips or bits of Reese Cup on top of the peanut butter.

    Here's the cheesecake I made for Christmas Dinner:

    Cappuccino Fudge Cheesecake! Was heavenly. Link to recipe: http://www.recipezaar.com/Cappuccino-Fudge-Cheesecake-111596 I slightly modified the recipe. I used espresso flavored dark chocolate in the crust, doubled the Kahlua, doubled the instant coffee, made it gluten-free, and topped it with Starbucks Milk Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans.

    The next cheesecake I want to try is Cookie Dough Cheesecake: http://www.recipezaar.com/Cookie-Dough-Cheesecake-15532

    Cup recipes work okay, but they’re not as accurate and repeatable as weights for baking, You still need to remember to use the right size cup for the countries recipe.
    UK 284 ml
    USA 237 ml
    Australia 250ml

    think the Australians got it best really.

    Edit PS Please send cake thank you.

    No way, assuming your figures are correct then ours is half a pint - clearly the pint is the best measure in the world! Pubs just wouldn't be the same without them :cooldude:

    Cups are fine for liquids since a cup is a measure of volume. Problems arise when recipes call for cups of solid objects, such as fruit. The amount of sliced apple in 1 cup is variable based on how small you slice the apples. Cups are fine for home cooking, however, as mentioned previously, weights are easier to scale.

    PS: NO! All mine.
