    Hi Guys
I have just upgraded to a GTX 760, (from a 275) how do I control the fan speed on this card ?, I previously used Riva tuner, but that no longer seems to work, at present it is running at roughly 74C

I'm not sure about the GTX 760, but the GTX 780 and GTX Titan are designed to run at 80DegC - 74DegC is likely to be fine as the cards' maximum is 97DegC. However, for nVidia cards I use EVGA's Precision X software to control the GPU fan, though I think other key brands have similar software, e.g. MSI has Afterburner.

    Thanks Guys
I will try them both, however this card runs quieter and cooler than the 275, which would not get below 65 without the fans running at 80% I would like to get the temp down a bit, but what a difference to the folding its quoting 25K PPD compared to the 275's 5k so will run it for a while to bed it in.

Taffy, you should get a lot more points than that with your GTX 760 - is it running using Core 17? If not, you need to add the 'beta' flag.

No Doc, its running using the standard download so will add the"beta" flag asap, the temp is now down to 67C using the MSI afterburner at 80%

Taffy - remove the advanced flag, and use only the beta flag.

Hi Johnim, thanks for the info, had a small hiccup with afterburner, but that was my fault

Well, I am now using 0x17, and the PPD has increased to 34k not the massive figures quoted but a lot better than 25K, any more suggestions ?
The CPU is my trusty AMD 955, 4 core, should I assign one core to the GPU ?

hi taffy thats why then you need to drop back to 326.80 or 327.23 untill they sort the drivers out as there is a 50%drop with newer 331 drivers

    Morning Johnim, et al,
I have now rolled back to the Nvidia driver 327.23, at this moment no change but waiting for this unit to finish. The ppd under 331 has dropped back from 30K to 27k, before I rolled back

The nVidia cards like a CPU core free for crunching at their full potential, so try changing the number of CPU cores down by one (assuming you are CPU Folding as well).

morning doc. problem now appears to be solved and its reading 66k PPD. yes I am running the CPU as well, so will let it run for a few hours then will experiment on the number of CPU cores the 955 has only the 4 and no extra threads. as you probably know
