    Sounds to me like they have seen blizzard make some cash of esport and have decided to join the bandwagon. First price does not sound like alot though to tempt people into paying.

    No, it's 180 in game gems which is worth about £2. These are in-game ranked tournaments not esport tournaments.

    GW2 will become an esport it's just when not if.

    EVE Online's first cash tournament would've been more worth covering..

    Yes, it's $10000 for the entire team, so not all that much, but it's their first effort. A test, so to speak.

    Yea because a company is going to pay you real money for playing a random in-game tournament anyone can play in. :wallbash:

    The article and title are really miss leading. Since these aren't real tournaments... Just random in-game ones that will be ranked for a ladder/elo system.
