Case Mod - In Progress CORSAIR CRYSTAL 570X Mod -WTLO-

It's a real privilege to work on a Corsair case again, but this time it's a very special case. I'm trying to make something beautiful with a case that already is awesome.
Fitted with tempered glass and combined with RGB fans this chassis already got a delicious look, feel and design.

So this will be a big challenge! What also keeps me awake is the knowledge that some of world's best casemodders also received the case to do there special things with it.

Anxious to know what you guys will do to this beauty gives a bit of high blood pressure but also great vibes to make something good.

I will name my build "WTLO"

Corsair likes to do it With The Lights On these days, and in this build Lights (RGB) will be a very important subject.

First of all, I would like to thank Blake, Harry and all of the Corsair guys who keeps believing in my builds and supported me for quite a long time now.

Let the party begin....

Specs:

Case: Corsair Crystal 570X RGB
CPU: Surprise
Motherboard: MSI X99A GAMING PRO CARBON
GPU: GTX1070
PSU: Secret
RAM: Dominator platinum
Fans: 6x HD120 RGB LED PWM Fan
Cooling: Custom water cooling

And much, much more, but will reveal this later.​

Episode 1

Must admit, didn't take pictures when the case arrived.
Waited a long time for this beauty so pretty enthusiastic to start.

The Corsair Crystal 570X RGB



I've got some ideas to make it possible to transform the case in every color you want.
This for the inside and outside:

Adjusting colors inside will be with RGB LEDs using the Corsair HD120 RGB fans and RGB strips/ controllers

Outside I will add use vinyl wrap on both sides of the tempered glass.
One side black and the other side white.

I also moved the Corsair logo from the left side into the middle to make it possible to flip the side panel and still see the logo.
And added RGB LED behind the logo.

To have the logo in the middle I made a midplate cover and a piece of acrylic. This will be modified later on.





So added black vinyl and did some cutting to get borders.



In this stage I'm still not sure if I will keep the borders because I want it a more "glass" appearance. I like it like this very much, but I don't want it to look like a "normal" case.



Designed 3 holes on a piece of black vinyl to show the beautiful Corsair SP120 RGB fans that came with the case... and pasted it on the front panel





After this I also made the pieces in white... The real challenge was to get it perfectly aligned with the black on the other side.







Last task in this episode is the extra fan on top. Original there is space for Two 2 x 120/140mm fans on top, but I want 3x 120mm fans on top just like the front.
Also I want everything aligned... top and front. So for this I did my first cutting in the case.
Made a bracket to hold 3 fans and after some adjustments installed it.

The original top plate has a recess on the right side to operate the buttons. When flipping the panel to get another color this would look silly and it would not be possible to reach the buttons.
So made a new top plate from smoked acrylic with recesses on both sides.

Episode 2

Hi Y'all,

Decided to cut the vinyl borders from the side panels, meaning the sides and top to give it a more glass look. Like I said before with the borders it looks like a "normal case".



So only did the side panels... the front and top are imho pretty good like this.











Then a beautiful "early Christmas" present arrived:



Nice goodies that I will show in progress of the build. But there is something in the box that I was really waiting for... The HD120 RGB fans.

These are also amazing just like the SP120, but they are much brighter and perfect for this build.

Episode 3

Good evening my modding friends,

Time to go inside the Corsair 570X
Because this build is all about changing colors I wanted to get the color change also inside. For this I have used a few RGB strips and another Corsair controller that came with the HD fans.

So I used 1 strip below my custom made midplate, one on top of the midplate and one within the small space of the radiator bracket.





Next I've made a Corsair plate with on the front and back white vinyl. After this I pasted the matt black with Corsair logo on top of the white. The white on both sides is for better light distribution.







the RGB strip on the midplate is for the custom reservoir. The idea is to use clear transparent liquid, so when you want to choose another color of the internal lightning, the liquid also change in this color.



And made another plate to cover the side of the reservoir.

Hopefully next update will be with some awesome hardware I have chosen for this build.

Episode 4

Hi y'all,

After these couple of days with lots of beer and pretty much overfed every day, I still have done some progress regarding the Corsair 570X RGB build.

A bit late regarding Christmas but... wishing you guys a happy holidays and a great new year. Hope you all will find peace and happiness.

The Corsair 570X RGB continues:
I love what Corsair did to take care of the cable management. For this they designed a nice cover to put everything behind.



But I'm gonna try to take it a step further.

before this, I also did some cutting in the case to make it easier to acces the pump beneath the midplate/ reservoir.



I've made a piece of acrylic to measure the space behind the mobo tray and plotted some vinyl with the Corsair logo. Also cut out a piece to get a nice little window for the
Corsair Force Series™ LE 240GB SATA 3 6Gb/s SSD

And with some minor adjustments and adding a RGB stip connected to the 6 port RGB LED hub it looks awesome:









I also started to work on the custom reservoir with tapping holes for the adapters. Don't have the final hardware but most of the measurements are possible to make and place the hardware later.



In the middle to the right side beneath the reservoir is the inlet for the pump.
In the back on the right there is the outlet pump, connected to the radiator.
And outlet radiator connected to the reservoir is on the right on top in the middle of the res. This will be a "fake" adapter to hold this line in place... more on this later.
And also added a fill port on the left of the reservoir





After installing the (provisional) hardware this will be the loop...



One line to function as an inlet for both parts... the inlet CPU and the Inlet GPU. This with valves to controle the flow of the liquid.

All outlets are going straight into the reservoir



Last part for this update... playing with the RGB as always

Best wishes and blessings for this new year!

What better way to begin this new year with finishing a build and with this another update

Finally my new motherboard is in which will fit perfect in this RGB build.
The MSI X99A Gaming Pro Carbon:



Once installed its time to connect everything and worrying about the details





Added some more vinyl to the reservoir. without I thought it was a bit to bright when the lights are on



Also did some Dominator modding to match the "theme"





Going fast, but after all off this I really wanted to startup everything... So, First startup!!!



Really love this RGB motherboard with all its features

So first test: RGB going wild!!!



Time for more smooth RGB lightning with the MSI App and the Corsair RGB controllers





And my favorite... Green and blue



So up and running, now some more minor details before the final shoot.
But got a little preview regarding the shoot.

Episode 6: Final

The build is finished and on his way to the US.
But not before I did the final photo shoot!

Shot a lot of pics because of the endless possibility's: switching panels, different color zones, RGB presets, etc.
