My housemate decided he needed to get a new gaming system, so I practically begged him to let me build it instead of letting the shop do it for him. I'm now pretty much drooling at the prospect of slowly opening all those packages, caressing the new hardware (ESD safety approved, of course), sniffing in the new hardware smell and slowly putting the components together. Hi, I'm Maya and I'm a hopeless geek Anyone else got similar cravings?
we all do I have fun every time I build a friend's PC, and it's a thousand times better when it's mine ... not that it happens often though
I built a PC for my electronics tutor in college and she wasn't even pretty. Don't worry, you're among friends. Moriquendi
Yep, definitely with friends! I have had a friend order all the stuff for me and I got to his house and he had built the thing! Some people are hidden geeks! Be warned!
My name is Will Chan, I'm a hopeless geek, my vice is video games and I too love gadgets and building PCs for no reason other than to build them. Even my girlfriend plays video games. My other big vice is Girls Aloud. *Breaks down into tears*
Hi I'm John and I'm a hardware addict/geek. I'm currently building 4 dual socket servers. For fun/folding. I'm an addict and I love it XD
Hi, I'm Matt and I'm an addict Seriously though, no matter how many PCs I build, I never tire of getting shiny new hardware and putting it all together. Just yesterday, I built a bulbdial clock from EvilMadScientist.com and loved every two hours of it. I even loved how the components and PCBs smelt when I took them out of their anti-static bags. I, too, am a hopeless geek! I also agree with Mankz, but know that he only posted that to hide the fact that deep down (or maybe not as deep as he thinks) he's a geek too
Yeah, I'm about to embark on some more serious video editing (self-recorded stuff and such), and I fear that my current system (Athlon X2 4450e ) will have a lot to complain about while previewing the video and such, leading me to conclude that I'll at least have to drop in a faster CPU, then some more RAM, then more/bigger HDDs... They're not in first place for me, but I have my own to tide me over until I'm no longer gf-less I think it's related to the elation common to the unwrapping of gifts during xmas and similar events
I also like cake and cheesecake and all things in between.. But as this is a family forum, I shall not go into any greater depth than that.
MMMMMMMM I know the building bug well, built a new pc for the missus last week end and loved it....This did'nt quite cure the cravings so i dismantled mine , cleaned every nook and cranny and rewired it....I'm now pacing round the kitchen looking for my next fix. I was gona start modding a case this week end buts it's been raining non stop so I cant work in the garden...ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!....HELP ME PLEAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZE
I've built most of the PC's at work. I can't belive the pay me for that sh!t I'd do it for free (just don't tell them that)
Ba ha ha ha ha!!!!! Geek!!! Don't go lookin for any support around here, now pi$$ off before ya ruin our cool!
