    Hi all,

I was wondering whether the Asus P8P67-M PRO will overclock worse than just a P8P67. Reason being that it is on offer on today only for just £106.

    Thanks in advance! :)

Should overclock better as it has better power management. Unless you are referring to the p8p67 pro in which case it should be on par.

It is a great board and as MurrayNT says, will overclock better (or at least will be more stable) than the bog standard P8P67 due to better power management. In addition, it can do SLI and Crossfire whereas the P8P67 can only do Crossfire.

Make sure you get the latest BIOS from the Asus website if you buy it.

Oh yes. The first ones were very unstable. I should know.:wallbash:

With Sandy Bridge it's more Chip dependant than anything TBH. Of course improved power phases will help but not as much as a golden chip IMO. Either way you will be having an Awesome OC. Also I recommend that you clear the CMOS before you first boot your PC and when you update the Bios clear it again.

The Micro Pro version lacks DIGI+ VRM power management compared to the vanilla ATX so arguably it has worse power management unless I'm missing something here.

I was looking seriously at this mobo too, particularly because of the price it's at. I'm waiting to see if Z68 delivers first.
