    Have a problem,

have a spreadsheet that has 400 rows on it, and in pretty much all the cells there is a mix of SBSC and DBSC characters.

If I set my default language to a DBSC language, then linb function counts all characters as 2 including SBSC characters - if I have my default language set to english, then lin function counts all characters as 1 including DBSC characters, and linb acts the same as lin.

So I can accurately work out how many characters is in any of the cells as I either get a number that is too high, or a number that is too low.

would it be possible to create some vba that would split the SBSC characters from the DBSC characters and put them in different cells so everything could be counted with lin command and cells that feature just DBSC characters can be doubled.

Or am I expected way too much?

EDIT: Somehow I've done it, I'm as surprised as the rest of the world.

    Thanks for playing!
