I'm not sure if I have a problem or not.

Recently did a fresh Windows install with a copy of 8.1 from previously being on 7.

Starting up GTA V and error come up saying that my CPU frequency isn't high enough for the game.
I had a look in the Task Manager, this stated the speed wasn't going up to my OC speed of 4.5Ghz but floating about 1.6Ghz. I put prime on testing and it stuck at a solid 1.6.
I then download CPU-z to double check, and it says the speed is going up to 4.5
    Pic below. [IMG]

So I am not sure if things are working as they should or not.

I have seen some people having issues similar to this with a Hyper-V bug, but I am not using this but I am using VMWare Workstation. Any thoughts?

Try installing the Intel Management Engine, and see if that helps. :)

    Have you tried KB 3003081?

This isn't applicable to my case as I don't have Hyper-V as such there is no option for me, nor is there anything under VMWare. Plus even if I did this workaround doesn't aid me over just using CPU-z

I knew someone was gonna say that. :/

Just save your profile first, and then reset it. Easy enough.

Also, no harm in trying to install that patch.

I have a love/hate relationship with my BIOS. I'll have a play with that tomorrow.
There isn't a patch, it's just a KB article with a link to one of MS teams blog.

Hmm. I don't know enough about OCing on Windows 8 to be able to help here I'm afraid. I only use 7 because that's what's allowed on HWBOT (except for a few benchmarks).

Hopefully someone else can help you here, though.

    What's wrong with the BIOS?

Nothing major, I have just broken it a few times. It's been running stable for a couple of years and I don't want to break it again. Saving the profile hasn't always worked for me.
