Carper, if you have any issues with any installing just post on the forums and it's pretty much guaranteed someone will be able to help you sort out the issues.

I'm on Wn7 64bit and I've got far too many games from Steam, but, they all work. some may require tweaking but again, any issues just ask.

there are a few freebies on Steam, notably, one of the Trackmania games.

Only if you haven't played it and don't have/can't afford L4D2 - it's much better.

I bought The Witcher enhanced edition the other day, totally awsome for £7 odd. Definitly deserves it's 18 rating though...

Haven't actually played either, not even as a demo. People just rave about it so much...

Been thinking about getting this one, too. Is it a completely digital version? I'm asking since they're talking about an additional audio disc, among other things.

I actually preferred L4D to L4D2, but at that price if you have never had it you would be mad not to get it and give it a whirl...

Yes it's totally digital. As far as I can make out they have gone through it all from start to finish improving it all around from the original, redoing a lot of the quests and dialogues, stuff like that. There are extras in there as well that I haven't fully explored, such as maps and a walkthrough guide in PDF format included. All for £7...amazing.

Takes a little while to get into it but by the time your mid way through chapter 2, and figure out how the potions work properly and combat it really starts taking off. I'm currently on chapter 3.

Best RPG I played in yonks, and a nice change to have it skewed to adult themes within context. If you don't like or can't tolerate VERY strong language though I would give it a miss, although it does add a considerable bit of atmosphere for me as it is all within character/context. Fits in with the violent world and people.

There is quite a bit of the main char getting laid at various opportunities as well...so again I can only say it really does deserve the 18 rating, decapitating enemies with a satisfying gush of claret figures a lot as well, among various fairly brutal finishing moves.

Gambling (dice poker) and fist fighting are nice sidelines to get into as well to make some extra cash (as well as advance some quests). Drinking to the point of staggering around figures in there as well.

Lots of cool stuff really enjoying the game.

I might just take you up on that offer if I decide to buy the game (which I probably will... )

The Witcher sounds really cool and I'm fully aware of it's adult-oriented content and liking it. There're too many dumbed down and "cleaned-up" games as it is, so this is a bit of fresh air. I'm not sure if this wouldn't be better as a physical purchase. Ah well, I still have until sunday to make a decision.

It better be as good as they all say!

Meh... Boring....

I'd hoped for something more spectacular to ring in the new year. Something which would make all the drunkards and party goers tear out their hair when they (obviously waaay too late) notice what they've missed. Alas, my credit card sighs in relief.
