Presumably it will run like a dog with those specs though.

I was expecting "over nine thousand" for everything.

Admittedly, what with this being a port, I was expecting the minimum and recommended specs to stay as they were. Interesting that while it may not be a huge leap forward, the minimum specs now still require more than the old recommended. Not by a lot, but certainly more than I expected.

Gonna get myself some new SandyBridge goodness soon anyway ^_^

that's what happens when Consoles don't evolve and you make a sequel of a PC-only CPU/GPU frier game for those consoles :p

Has anyone actually played Crysis on a new rig recently?

I played it on the "Little Brother" rig I put together in October and it ran really well and looked fantastic just using a GTX460 1GB and i5 760.

Very true and very sad. I hope that the PC version includes some extra dx10-11 features for the PC. I'm starting to feel left out. Saying that I don't blame Crytek for focusing on consoles as Crysis was:

    1.Pirated like hell.
2.Out of reach for the majority of PC gamers with average rigs.

I was included in the second point as I had to wait nearly 18months after Crysis was released to upgrade my hardware.

Runs very smooth for me @1920x1080. Core2duo with a radeon 4890. Gorgeous game. Gameplay was a bit **** once the aliens came on the scene. Warhead was much better IMO.

    Not really.

Max settings yes but medium settings or even low settings ran well, and at the time if not now even looked alot better than other games.

Am I the only person who thought Crysis looked 'average' - don't get me wrong, the scale and physics were impressive, but I didn' think the game itself looked that good.

Also, the 8800GT has 112 Cuda cores - thats a pretty hefty minimum specs.

Bit contraversial I know but I actually really enjoyed the aliens, especially when I got to use the Gauss rifle as a medium range sniper weapon. I think it added variety to the game, could have got a little boring if the whole thing was purely korean soldiers.

    Average compared to what exactly?

Specs seem kinda high considering it's optimised for an xbox and that only a gpu approximately as fast 7800GT in it (i.e. 8800GT blows it away)?

Ah, finally, my graphics card appears as a minimum requirement for a game, and I just upgraded from 1280x1024 to a 1920x1080 screen. Guess it's new card time for spec.

That imo is a good thing as it hopefully means they are gonna make it badass as it should be on a pc :D.
