If this is good, I can see it becoming the new Beats! (For those who don't know - Every Grandparent, parent, child and his pet terrapin have a pair in London).

I will be sure to get a pair so I can 'accidentally' punch annoying people on the tube.

    TSB

    (also porn anywhere, anytime?)

    Welcome to the 80's
Turbo buttons, 3D and virtual reality, what's next? a knackered economy and mass protests

Seriously though, I thought Augmented Reality was being touted as "the next big thing"

I'd like to second this comment. If i see another Beats by dre pair of headphones i will hurt someone. Overpriced marketing hyperbole at its best.

    Happy with my MDR-V700's

Oh and VR making a come back, just like 3d tv's.

    Whats next, smellovision?

Until they develop a HoloDeck, I'm not interested.

Just what I've been waiting for. VR is like the current 3D tech x100.

If they can produce a stereoscopic HMD with a decent resolution (640x480? in 2011? And you want HOW many thousand for it?) at consumer prices, I can see it being a massive breakaway smash hit. Hell, if they can get 1280x720 per eye, I'd easily pay £200 for one.

But, like the Kinect, a massive smash hit that nobody bothers to use with their console.

if they hit a sweet spot on the price, It will honestly sell, (and bring developers to it), otherwise, it will still be a dream (and honestly make it more smaller, lol

virtual reality isnt 3D though but immersion in a 3D environment.

so why would it need to be stereoscopic ?

personally for games we are way off but i want to control my PC with this bad boy. Think johnny mnemonic interface or minority report with a headset instead

    Important safety tips:-

"Do not operate the device near stairs, open windows or cliffs"

I'm sure I read that on something to do with VR back in the 90's
