Honestly this is actually the 1st time I'd even heard of this rumor. However, thankfully it's not true.

Not to swim against the tide or anything, but I haven't had any issues with GFWL for ages, I think Resident Evil 5 was the last installation that gave me trouble.

And as anyone who played RE5 on PC knows, to be honest, it was trying to do me a favour.

Then again, I only ever play at home on my gaming desktop, so the whole always on thing just doesn't bother me.

Damn you Skyrim, why could you have not done like the witcher 2 did? A steam release for those people that want steam and a completely drm free version for the rest of us!

Aren't GFW games supposed to have native support for a 360 controller, isn't that what it's for?

I hate GFWL First time i used it, it asked me to put in an email address, so naturally, i used my junk mail address, only for it to tell me i have an account and would i like to log in? Thinking i must of set one up for something (possibly while drunk) i go ahead and stick my most likely password in. Logs me it, no probs, registers the game against that account (bioshock 2), decides it needs an update, .... and logs my brother out of my Xbox 360. Gay. Now i can't play any GFWL games while someone's on my xbox live, or vice versa. It's such a PITA. Why did they have to do that?

Yeah, it's a standards thing like 80 PLUS for PSUs. 360 controller, easy install and some other guff.

A bit like how you can't play a steam game when someone else is logged in to your steam account?

Not quite. There's no games sharing going on in his situation, it's Xbox 360 games separetely bought from PC games, but not able to be played concurrently due to using a shared account.

No, I get why they did that on steam, else we'd all be swapping accounts and it would be a form of piracy. My problem with the situation is that it is a multi-platform arrangement where if i am on my pc, playing a particular game, noone can play on my xbox online. It's no like i can download and install a pc game on my xbox, while playing an xbox game on my pc. If there had been a warning that the two accounts were to be merged, then i would of created a second profile, on which i would not be expected to pay £40 a year for.

Why they even have to make it multi platform, i have no idea. There's only one game that i can think of that pitted xbox users against pc gamers and that was a flop. I don't even recall it's name. Stormreach? Stormfall? Xbox live and GFWL should of been kept seperate.

Plus updates for GFWL itself that you can't avoid, but then either don't download at all or cause your pc to crash once they do download.
