Well, not again huh ? Need a HTPC for my living room. Never found a case i wanted, so i took a white Prodigy i had ad remembered its pretty easy to mod it. == HARDWARE == Zotac G41 ITX motherboard Intel E6600 cpu 8GB ram PicoPSU Will try on the onboard graphics at first, if i need more power i have a 6570 low profile card to use with a riser. So i tested it out with some 4mm ABS plastic and it was good, will wrap it in vinyl later. And front panel goes outside of this to give it a better look anyways So here it goes, build thread No#... too many
Its getting closer Front panel need some more love, but in overall i´m satisfied. White enermax fans in the top. Next up, motherboard base.
Something like this will be the end result, + a Bitfenix logo somewhere. Didnt have enough acrylic at home for side panels, so im testing with some white ABS. Made the plate for the motherboard today, and tested to install the parts, works well! Put together with double sided tape right now, so a bit hanging here and there
Made some more progress in this mod. Side panels, i use the side panel with buttons and audio jacks from the original panel. Fresh from wet sanding, thats why they are dirty And here is the side panel for the black prodigy (yeah, i´m making one white, one black and one Black Phenom cut the same way) Some bubble-popping to do before its done. I was trying with adding a Be Quiet logo on the acrylic, then wrap flat black on top of it to get embossed logo, worked pretty well.
Had a fire at my kitchen that delayed my modding work But its close now, i think i will post both the black and white mini´s in this thread further on as they are different in some details.
Been working on the black one, getting closer on that one so i show progress from both the white and black in the future A mockup of all the parts.
Some internal pics after some work this weekend. Need to fix the cables, but im satisfied due to the lack of space Used a Cooler Master Seidon 120v for cooling in this one. Side view, not alot of space but enough for motherboard, a 2TB drive and a SSD, a 120mm radiator and all cables. Using a Be Quiet SFX PSU My custom side panel turned out good PSU mounted above the motherboard If i do another one of theese, i´ll cut a hole in the floor for PSU and put one more fan in the roof, this may be to hot. We´ll see after some testing. Inside gut of the Prodigy Mini, testing the hardware and installing windows right now. Cable management its not much room for, but some hide away i think i need to fix Red cable going to be changed also.
