It's not very hard to modify them to automatic upgrade though. Also some semi models do have 3round burst feature which is better in my opinion than full auto anyway.

If it's capable of firing the next round without you pulling the trigger again*, it's not semi-auto by definition and won't be sold in Walmart.

    *not counting bump fire devices

Those kinds of incidents are well documented to cause a surge in gun sales.

Whilst the guy selling them is clearly nuts, that's brilliant. You could use that for bike gear, paint bottles, random stuff.

It's a stealth man drawer, shame about the people it's marketed to.

    ?

So if a drunk bloke drives a pickup truck into a crowd killing X number of people, are car dealerships supposed to stop selling utility vehicles?

The point is, it's too easy to purchase a gun in USA. Jeez you don't even need a license to purchase a shotgun.

    No.

But you do stop selling utility vehicles with big spikes on the front and a cross-hair on the windscreen to people without driving licences or insurance.

Maybe that's what Rollo meant, that's certainly a more reasonable argument than attacking a company because they sell a product that they're legally allowed to.

I normally don't take part in general gun law discussions, but here's my 2 cents.

I think a license system is reasonable. If you want to use a car, the government ensures that you know how to drive it, and I'm not a fan of the fact that you can get guns in the US without any sort of education or training to make sure you can handle them safely.

However it must also be said that a license system does not prevent mass shootings like this. In my country we have very strict regulations that make the whole thing a pain in the ass, you have to go through medical and psychological exams to get a license and yet we had a school shooting just a couple of years ago. Yeah, just one, but then we only have 10 million people in this country.

As long as there are unstable people in our communities, they will find a way to kill, unfortunately. (i.e. mass stabbings in asia, which i'm sure have already been mentioned a lot since this whole topic came up again)

I don't have a problem with wall mart selling guns as long as it is allowed, I do however find it mildly disturbing how casual weapons are seemingly treated in the US however and having weapons in a supermarket is not a good sign.

btw are there any Americans that can answer me on if Wall mart still do not sell any kind of alcohol ? While I was there in KY there were plenty of guns in Wall Mart but no alcohol, which I found to be a somewhat strange set of priorities, that they had guns out in the open unlocked but they didn't dare to sell a beer :D

And while we are on the topic of Wall Mart do they still lock in the condoms so that anyone who wishes to by them has to ask an employee ? (back then they even had an age restriction on condoms of 18 years :wallbash: but that is closing in on ten years ago)

    that is awesome XD
