Turned on my computer for the first time in a few days today and discovered all the BIOS settings had gone and my system clock had lost about a week.

    Dead CMOS battery?

I didn't think they ever died, the one in my 16 year old PC is still going strong same thing in the 9 year old one I recently retired.
