Hello, My mate has just bought an i5 3330 and needs a motherboard to suit, he wants one that runs ivybridge cpu out of the box with no bios update required, a dedicated ivybride chipset?? Cheers.
Many thanks sir, i think the H77 chipset is the way to go, he insists on a asus board as well, any recommendations??
H77 is a good choice, usually they have just enough features without being obscene. i5 3330 is a cracking chip, I've been running one for over a year first with a H61 chipset and now with a H67 chipset. Recommendations in the asus range would be anything with decent VRM cooling, there are allot of H77 boards out there that lack this. I know its not going to be thrashed with that chip, but it's always worth it.
thanks for replys and suggestions, my mate wants to keep costs as low as poss and has decided on a Asus P8H77-M LE S1155 Intel H77 DDR3 mATX mobo from CCL, only £56!
