    Hello everyone!:D

It has been a long time in the making, but I am finally working on a project worthy of a build log! :thumb:

Let's have a look at what we have to work with.

Here are the specs as of June 6th 2014:

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition (currently not OCd)
    Mobo: ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX
RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance Blue 1600Mhz
    SSD: Samsung 840 pro 256GB
HDD: WD Black 1TB and WD Blue 500GB
GPU: XFX AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB
    PSU: Corsair TX850M 850W
    Case: NZXT Phantom 820

I'm not doing much as far as hardware upgrades, yet...:naughty:

I do want to get one more SSD and replace the two HDDs with two 2TB drives. Stripe the SSDs and mirror the HHDs that will backup the SSDs everyday.

The project name, I decided, needed to be close to the original since I am going to keep the same iconic shape. The color combo is going to be red, white, and grey, so naturally I used red in the name. Red Spectre seemed fitting.

The major ideas that I have are to make the front and top smooth, no mesh, buttons, lights, doors, or trim. Just the simple curves and angles that drew me to this case. I am also going to replace the mobo tray with a 6.35mm sheet of white plexiglass, replace the rear panel with a custom piece of 3mm plexi, paint the motherboard, and sleeve all of the cables.

I have some other ideas, but I'll leave those a secret. (mostly because I'm lazy and don't want to try to explain them with text):hehe:

Here are some pics of my work on the motherboard:
