Ive got the choice of either of these for my upcoming water build. Ive googed around but cant find much between them. Whic one would you use and why (on a 1366 build) 1. OCZ Hydroflow HFMKI 2. Supreme HF CU Full Nickel
Can't say which one to use, but can tell you which one you should not use for now : http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=211317
In all fairness I've used both the Full Nickel and the Nickel Plexi with a multitude of Feser One coolants and it hasn't affected either, I think the the highlighted problem is to do with GPU blocks more so than CPU blocks also. In answer to the question use the EK Full Nickel
Neither, the OCZ if I'm not mistaken has no 1366 support, and the EK, well, mine ripped itself to shreds. Killed the whole loop. And I was using a PEG based fluid. I picked up a Kryos Pro for 49 USD, dunno where you are but the block is an awesome one. Comes with Prolimatech PK-1 for TIM as well.
I have both these blocks already, so the choice has to be one of them im afraid. The OCZ deffo has 1366 support as it was strapped to one when i got it But the EK on the other hand.... hmmm it has the easy mount system so i think that works with 1366.
Thanks for that buddy I had thought as much but was not sure. Build is going to be saturday/sunday, or maybe monday depending on when Aquatuning get my order delivered! Im leaning towards the EK, but would be really dissapointed if it caused me problems down the road.
EK will replace it mate trust me, they're pretty good like that and my HF Nickel Plexi has thus far been subjected to 4 different Feser One colours over a period of 9 months and now sits proudly in my Phantom build; its absolutely flawless I think its the newer kit and only certain coolant types that are causing the problems which again I think are affecting GPU blocks more so than CPU blocks owing to the greater surface area I would surmise.
If you can keep an eye on it (acryl top?) - run the EK. Every couple of days have a look at the quality of the nickel inside Is that possible? Plus - sorry to hear, Kayin
I don't know how robust the testing methodology was for these tests but the OCZ came out around 5ºC hotter than the Heatkiller 3.0 which in turn is around 1-2ºC hotter than the EK Supreme HF. http://www.overclock.net/water-cooling/509875-another-round-waterblocks-i7.html
Thanks for all the opinions and info guys. Looks like the build wont be for a week or two yet, so i still have time to decide. I will be using Primochill PC Pure fluid in the system
