It's nice to see that Intel intends to improve FPGAs but I have a bad feeling they're going to go in a very bad direction with them. Intel is notorious for making things more complicated and powerful than they need to be, i.e. inventing the CISC x86 architecture. Intel is a perfect choice for PC users and generic-purpose servers, and they're really catching up with low-power devices. But I really don't like that they feel the need to get into every single market that involves a processor more powerful than what you'd find in a microwave oven.
