I recently went on a coach tour of Belgium, organised by some wonderful guys in Nuneaton, and had my eyes opened in terms ofwhat beer there is to drink. We were lucky enough to be taken around some of the breweries and to taste some lesser known (in Britain) beers, some of which were absolutely wonderful. I swear, I will never touch a drop of Becks, Budweiser, Stella Artois or Leffe (all made by InBev, the merger of Anheuser Busch and Interbrew) again.

Right now my beer cabinet comprises:

    Chimay (blue)
    Orval
    Wittekerke (Rose and normal)
    Contreras Tonneke
    De Dolle Brouwers Oerbier

    I would also recommend:

    Dubuisson Cuvee de Trolls
    Brooklyn Dark Chocolate Stout
    Delirium Tremens

    Delirium is a great drop.

Personal fave at the minute is Tripel Karmeliet.

The Chimay blue is a nice beer but how you can drink Delirium Tremens is beyond me..

    Gotta love belgium!

Chimay Blue is one of my favorite beers. We often go to a bar here that has hundreds of different beers with (for most of them) the correct glasses. I always try a few new ones when I'm there but usually I will have a blue chimay as well.

I must confess I still drink a lot of inbev beers as well (Jupiler most of the time).

Did you visit the "brugse zot" brewery in the centre of brugges as well?

I have about 20 different beers at home (just a few each) and about 15 spirits.
And a small selection of wine, cava and champagne as well.

    No soda's though, lol

Got a few bottles of this left from my Berlin trip, sour wheat beer mixed with raspberry syrup. Very tasty and refreshing.

Also have a crate of Adnams East Green. Their brewery is a 20min drive from here and I love this beer.

On my birthday celebration I had 6 bottles of DTs. My local pub only keeps 4 in the fridge, so they had to go in the back to restock. It's just beautiful stuff. I've also got a beer shop near me that sells the 750ml bottles, which is pricey but worth it.

The glass is nice too, as shown above.

    @Lovah:

No, we didn't visit Brugges but we did stop in Ostend for a couple of nights. I don't know what the place we stayed in is called but it's attached to a bar that has 350 different bottled beers.

Pro tip: avoid Pink Killer. Grapefruit beer just doesn't work for some reason.

I don't understand people who prefer bottled water.

I'm currently drinking some tap water, cutting down on alcohol for monetary purposes.
