hey all!

this is my project for a powermac g5 case. I hope it will be different from all the other G5 mod around. Alot to be customized and letting it to serve as a better purpose of inverted motherboard.

so...

i have a rough idea for this rig. but before that, i tried measuring up and giving it a rough sketch.



i try making a hotswap bay with 3mm thick alu and also corsair hotswap 6gb/s pcb

Measuring up the distance between each connector. i started to saw, file ( lots of filing) and lastly bend at the btm of it to attach to the g5 case.



after i get all line up and nice to the pcb, i started to make ventilation for the alu, hoping without compensating the strength for it. so i left a tiny bit of alu in between. ends up. it is still very sturdy!



i hook up to a few hdd and test. end up it is very nice! totally fit!

and i hope to get a better camera next time

7/11 log

so i managed to done up the mount. there are still markings but will be sand off and spray it.

using a 1cm thick acrylic for the mount.









saw off parts of the case to make way for the hotswap.

on the left side of the photo. Im using existing screw to mount it on.

this the fan holder. not quite yet finish. but the frame is there. more surprises!

Hi all! i am here to update on you guys again!

i drilled some countersunk holes for the plates to screw in nicely.



and the rest of the parts laying around!



started on soldering the lcd







all solder went out nicely!





and hello bit tech!




and did i mention that i might go into watercooling?
