Hello all, I've just come over from CPC forums, I don't really post much, more of a lurker. I have been folding for a while off and on (more off than on) Something thats bugging me is in the verbose of the smp client it says "working with standard loops on this execution" "8 consecutive improper terminations" Question 1. Is standard loops OK? Question 2. How do I do a proper termination then? Question 3. In my UserCP I see no option to add my folding stats into my sig. Question 4. My ppd is really cr4p, is there anything I can do to speed it up? I have a e6300 c2d and getting about 1000ish ppd I would like to use gpu client but all I have at the moment is a lowly Rad x1950 pro, I've been looking for a Geforce 250/260 on ebay to increase my ppd though. Thanks for looking
Welcome to the forums. 1) Standard loops are well standard (read: normal) 2) CTRL-C out of the program then wait 3 mins before shutting down 3) You need 10 posts to add stats 4) Run the SMP client in a linux VM (check the vmware thread)
wow that's gotta be the fastest response on any forum ever! /thumbs up! Good I'm glad standard loops is the norm, I was getting paranoid that there was special turbo mode or something! How about running the client on a real Linux machine, I have a Debian disc? Unfortunately The spare comp has a cr4ppy P4 1.4ghz =/
I'm trying to see if I can find a 260GTX (216 core) on ebay for about £100, there's a few at the moment, but I suppose they wont stay that price for long!
I have a P4 D 3.4ghz@3.7 and have been running the FAH504 Console on both cores 1@100% and the other @80% along with my 8600GT which runs the GPU2 client, question is, would the Windows XP/2003/Vista/2008 SMP client console version 6.23 beta for Deino MPI give me much more points? I understand that for this client you have to use a Windows user and pw which i dont really want to set up that is why i am running that client. Any ideas, Thx, Norfolk [folding]un=Norfolk'N'Good&t=35947[/folding]
Hello chap, Welcome to the forum, I am new here myself. You will be better off making a new thread for yourself, you will get more replies then. =)
