Police officer has been stabbed and 1 assailant shot. At least 5 mowed down by a car on Westminster bridge
I'm up here in Euston. There are A LOT of sirens but apart from that its business as usual. Media likes to make a lot of these things, probably just end up being some mentalist with a screwdriver.
I work near Westminster - but today I chose to work from home. Glad that I did... all my colleagues are however safe and sound.
Unfortunately one (female) already confirmed dead, other casualties with "catastrophic injuries". Hopefully there'll be no more deaths and no follow-up attacks.
It's a tragedy that people have been killed or injured - and I hope no one else gets killed or injured - but I think it's important not to lose focus. Westminster is a ripe target for attackers. The reaction to this should not be fear, hate, or retaliation.

Fear is unavoidable and in many ways helpful in making usually complacent people aware and vigilant. Hate and retaliation, on the other hand, are as much use as tits on a goldfish.
By "fear" I mean "fear of the other", not "fear for your own safety". One is instinctive and the other is a matter of perspective. The person/people who did this are not evil inhuman monsters, they are just people: people with their own views, beliefs, and desires, no matter how deplorable we might find them or their actions.

Well as best as i understand it, thus far - Car plows into people on westminster bridge, killing one, sending another into the river. Person [who may or may not have been driver of the car] stabs copper and is shot, but not fatally, by police. Everyone goes mental. EDIT: Updated - 4 dead - the attacker, the policeman, plus two others. 'At least 20' injured.
I can't help but wonder if this is a response to the economic warfare declared on Middle Eastern airlines this morning...
Best we can hope for its the work of a lone crazy person. Worst its another terror attack on UK Soil. The consequences of which could be far reaching, In the last 12months the 3 biggest capitals in Europe would each off had a terror attack. All of which using similar devices a Motorised vehicle.
Well the name some media outlets have run with, turns out the guy is reportedly still in prison... And therein lies the problem in situations like this... People jump on the slimmest of scraps on info and it's half-way across the planet before anyone can check if it's genuine or not.
Confirmed not to have been this chap. He's still in prison. Media need to fact check better in these circumstances. Or, what RedFlames said five minutes earlier. That'll teach me to refresh before posting.
