Well basically this is my first time adventuring into custom waterloops, and id love to know what sort of loop i could fit into my haf x? for cpu cooling... maybe gpu if it isint super expensive? thanks guys, Luke
haha, oh dear god this definitely, although as long as your not trying to make watercooling mainstream (which it never will be) or take a petition to the goverment or the UN to make it mainstream then we should be fine But yeah other than answering the questions above, I'd say a 60mm 360 rad in the roof with some decent fans, gentle typhoons would be my suggestion. Should give you plenty of cooling capacity as long as your not running like 3gtx 580's, plus an overclocked cpu all on one loop obviously Have a look at this video for ideas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3i9EV3P9gQ&feature=relmfu
Haha no one is like Chap! I am just trying to get some information other than, I want to watercool now tell me how to do it....
ill be watercooling a 2600k, and possibly 2 - ATI HD6950 2GB i Love tho look of black bitspower fittings also ive read enough to understand there possibly the best? thanks
For that you would probably need a 240 mm for the 2600k and a 360, maybe 480mm for the GPU's. Depends on whether you are overclocking the 6950's? As for fans, Gentle Typhoons are generally recommended for radiators.
A 3x120mm radiator 60mm thick should be enough and wil fit in easily into a haf x. In this there is a 980x and a 6990 and that has a 360mm rad in a 932 advanced http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fq4q6qeF6EI
so maybe.. pump > res > 360 up top > and a 240 if i can fit it someweres else :/ ? edit: i cant find 6950 blocks anywhere! :/
this? http://www.scan.co.uk/products/ek-fc6970-acetal-plus-nickel-water-block-for-radeon-hd6970 I know it pre-order but hopefully they should have it soon, and I believe because the 6970 and 6950 are so similar a 6970 block should fit the 6950 (but best check the ek cooling configurator), as I've never seen 6950 blocks
Well if a 360 will cool it fine then another 240 is added cost that isn't needed. I didn't really make myself clear, then again if you want another 240 then it only means you could run fans @ lower rpm/get better temps EDIT: pretty sure that 6970 blocks fit 6950's aswell. That's why you used to be able to do the 6970 flash on a 6950.
ok thanks guys there isint really anywhere to mount a 360 and a 240 in the haf-x from what i ca see, so maybe a 360 and a 120 would be sufficiant? or is there people who have mounted both? thanks again
Ello buddy I've been away for a couple of days so you were stuck with this monkeys guiding you Right, firstly I hope you've read through my thread, as this will halp you massively. For a rad get a single RX360 (made by XSPC) as I've seen one of those cool 3 580's It'll easily fit in a HAF X
really? i thought it would of been better :O alot of people use a 360 and a 120 :O what other parts do you reccomend? Best Pump, Res, Tubes, Fittings Etc Thanks edit: think im just going to watercool the cpu atm.
If your just going to do the CPU I wouldn't bother as those SB chips produce no heat. Whats your budget?
