Something sounds wrong to me... I don't think that the HXXX series can do passive cooling... Here for example they found that "Without any active cooling fans the temperature rose to a dangerous level and so in this test it failed" - although this was with a LGA2011 CPU... What are your temps like

It shouldn't stop the fans spinning at any time......

Yeah, or maybe just a loose connection. Glad you have it sorted!

Do you have a fan profile set up in the bios?

For the Corsair H series coolers, you really really should set up the fan profiles in the BIOS. Depending on which generation of cooler you have, you need to plug the pump connector into either the CPU_FAN connector or the CPU_OPT Fan connector. Then in the bios, you need to set the CPU Fan Speed Low Limit to Ignore, the CPU Fan Profile to Manual, the CPU Fan Max Duty Cycle to 100% and the CPU Fan Min Duty Cycle to 100%. That makes sure that the pump is always running at full power.

The actual radiator fans should be plugged into the H100 pump body, so that it can control the fans via PWM.
