2016's Thread "In case you are new member to our folding team this thread is for sharing your personal achievement's and milestones with the rest of us, doesn't have to be a huge milestone but something you are proud to have achieved towards the science"
I just made it into our top 100, with 27.3 million points. Only making 125-130K ppd, but waiting for Pascal to up that later this year
Top 100, hopefully, see you soon! Well I started folding 26 days ago and started on 9,583th position on the Custom PC & bit-tech's folding team and now managed to get to 118th position with ppd of 2,121,925 avg and still climbing. There are 2 pc's folding 24/7 and a another pc which we just added a titan x 12GB so this should bring ppd up a bit more. Currently building a old evga x58 SR2 with dual xeon for further increase ppd.http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_summary.php?s=&u=693549
Congrats PcShedTV you are currently 98th Team Rank and rising rapidly. Nice hardware you have there. 2.2 years and falling until you over take me.
Cheers. Finally made it to Top 100 and currently sitting at 65th position with 40,435,113 points and ppd of 2,145,300 in 34 days of folding. The evga sr-2 is currently being built all watercooled with EK blocks for chipset/VR and cpu's. A pair of old xeon 6 core 5650x and digging out some 690gtx's to see how they do. 2 more old HP pc servers to be build in February using old 1366 socket with pair of xeon quad 5550x and 5570x. going to be using pci risers to add extra GPU. Finally aquired totally 2 x Xeon 8 core E5-2660 which is going to 2011 socket dual workstation but not sure on gpu's to run on that as this build is going to be done in March. Hopefully I will achieve my second target of 3M ppd by Feb and 4M ppd by March. Time will tell!
That's some impressive server grunt you've got access to PcShedTV! Nice job on the PPD Should make your house all nice and toasty
80 mill! Would be more but had problems with my eVGA gtx 980tis from Overclockers. Ended up the DOA one was replaced with ANOTHER one which was DOA. Figuring that out all took time, so at the moment I've just 2x machines folding on GTX 780s until I can get some work down-time - if that exists. Well done PCShed - you're smashing it!
Congrats reaching 80 million, it will be another 4 weeks before i reach that milestone with the current planned rigs which i am currently building. managed to acquire a 690gtx dual gpu card, so we will see how that performs.
Cheers, 60th now with and just about holding 2Million ppd. I think i can bring that 2.2 years timescale down a bit with a few more rigs!
Thanks, 2 pcs are in the house the others are in the garage shed. But the end of this week hopefully only one in the house and 4 servers up and running!
50M Milestone reached! So 39 days folding and finally reached the 50 Million milestone, with 6120 WU and PPD of 2,062,183. My ppd took a hit as had to do a few changes to the graphics cards, as needed them for the servers I currently buillding. hopefully over the weekend will have 2 up and running 24/7 This folding is getting addictive!!! https://www.facebook.com/PcShed/photos/pcb.951512344932801/951511448266224/?type=3&theater
Congratulations on that milestone! I dread to think what the electricity bill must be like with that farm running! I am still trying to tackle some stability problems with my own machines which are folding on a remote site, however I have slowly but surely clawed my way back into the top 100. I'm going to add at least another one GTX 970 back into the GPU setup as soon as I get it; I'm waiting for an RMA replacement which will probably arrive at the end of this month.
Electricity costs not too bad, hence trying to use efficient PSU. I have been looking at 970 GTX as you can pick them up now under £200 used. What sort of ppd are you getting with yours and what core clock speeds are you running?
Will we hit 60 million milestone before the weekend is over??? When i think now is a Yes! Finally got all 4 servers up and running his weekend and currently folding using the Web Browser Client (http://folding.stanford.edu/nacl/?team=35947) at the moment until I can afford and load them up with graphics cards. So specs wise they are 3 HP Z600 and 1 HP Z800 Server: Server 1 - Dual Xeon Hex core X5650 with HT (24 cores) Server 2 - Dual Xeon Quad core X5550 with HT (16 cores) Server 3 - Dual Xeon Quad core X5570 with HT (16 cores) Server 4 - Dual Xeon Quad core X5570 with HT (16 cores) Check photos on the current state of them on link below; https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.952490171501685.1073741837.888620227888680&type=3 Been changing cpu heatsinks to ensure temps are kept at bay as they will be running 24/7 but to be fair the HP heatsinks do a pretty good job as these cpu are 95W Been testing a 690 GTX dual GPU and MSI R7 370 4G, overclocked of course but a bit disappointed with ppd its getting (amazing card for pc gaming at 1080 and 1440p). 2 more server pc builds to go, dual cpu evga sr2 with x5650, Asus Z9PE-D8 with 2x E5-2660 then that is it. The Folding Farm complete ready to load up with GPU's. Monday testing a MSI 970GTX and see how that does, if ppd is good then that is my gpu of choice. Anyone have any thoughts on this or any recommendations?
