    It´s Time for a new Project....:D

In the last days we already started to build a new project, we had the plans in our heads for a few years now...but up to now....we didn´t had the time to realize them...
Now after the DCMM 2013 has passed, we thought it would be cool to build this as our next project.

So before we start, we already want to shoot out a real Big thank you !!!! to Recaro, they support this project with a custom build Racing Seat which was just builded for us (with exact measurements etc.) It will be one of the most important parts of this build....so we´re really glad about their support!!!!

First we´re building this thing with 2DOF, but maybe when everything works like we planned it we´re going to add a few more DOF later....

But before we come to that point....we first have to build a working base frame.

So we already cutted a few steel square tubings into pieces and started to weld them together (our first welding experiments....)

But now, it´s time for some pics....

Love these racing builds. They're always so technical; it's awesome. I'll be watching this one.

Looking forward to this one, no project starting with a Recaro seat can be a bad idea!

    thanks m8´s!

nice to see that so many of you like this :D....

no, its the workshop in our basement....but we used a lot of old kitchen furniture in our workshop around the walls as storage....and i really think if your kitchen would look like this....you won´t make a meal in it....:D

i hope so :D:rock: (we already planned the mounting for the harness)

In the last days we continued the welding and grinding process....so that we now have our base frame nearly completed....

    time for the next update:

In the last days we completed the work on the base construction...now we can mount the upper frame on the base frame .....(the seat is just put in place for the picture...)

After doing this, we continued the work on the lower Frame...we added 2 more struts in the back section. They´re just there so that we could mount or motor carriers on them.....

In the last days we made some progress on this project....we attached the prepared Motor holders on the Baseframe....we also prepared the next mounting points on the upper frame...they will be used to connect the motors with the uper frame....

Beside that we also made some progress on the Handbrake and it´s nearly done...just the electronic (switches etc.) are missing at the moment....

We also drilled holes in both motor shafts so that we could fit in a screw which is attached to the potentiometers which will report the exact motor position to the electronics....

time for the next small update on this project

in the last days we made a lot of small things, like drilling holes, cutting threads, welding small pieces on the center axes to prevent unwanted rotations. Beside that we also added a few more parts to the base frames so that we could mount the Steering wheel and also a bottom in the upper section.

Then we made a first Test with the motors....just to see if we have any problems with the movement...so that we could change it before we continue....but until now everything is fine....so i think we can continue with the next parts in the next days....

Nice start, but IMO you could have chosen a second hand recaro seat from a VW golf 5 or 6, they're more comfy
