    This is my first computer mod, i built a desk the house my computer, three fans on the back for cooling and dvd, usb, lights and power on the front.

    The computer
    AMD 6 CORE fx CPU
    MSI 970a - g46 MOBO
    XFX R7770 OC
    Cosair gs700 PSU
    OCZ 120GB SSD
    1TB WD HDD
    8GB cosair vengenace RAM

    The desk has 6 shelves, all created using dowel joints, the same method of construction was used on the box that houses the computer
    The desk is pure 100% Oak, from a local timber yard, legs wany grain, the hole desk has 2 coats of polythene varnish, top has 4 and a layer of beewax

    Sorry about this folks was having trouble uploading, pics now comming

    The top of the desk, the four bits of wood that make it up

    The top has hiden loose tounges with the wood;
    I routered a slot and create several slats to add extra strength to the top

    I drilled 4 holes in each corner, just alittle bit inside the line

    Hole cut out for glass using gigsaw, cutting from hole to hole

    Routered a rebate for the glass to sit on, 10mm down and out

    Cut out the holes for the shelves and dvd, using a frame made on cnc machine and then routered around

    Used same method for fans holes

    Shelves together, doweled together and glued

    Mounting holes for Motherboard, on plate that the computer sit on

    Mounts for SSD AND HHD

    First test of everything once mounted, no cable management atm

    First test, making sure that the computer fitted in the box

    Placed pine strips around the underneath of the shelves to support the base

    Completed? Wood with pencil marks? I was kind of expecting a bit more, not meaning to be harsh. :)

    Very nice desk, the kit could do with some tidying up though, maybe some cable management and a little bit of positioning to show off the parts more :)
