I'm looking at building myself a PC. Never done it before but always wanted to try. Budget: about £500, already got HDDs with OS and Moniter Main uses of intended build: Gaming, Programming, Video. Basically and alrounder for the money. Parts required: CPU, Motherboard, Graphics Card, PSU, cooler, Case Previous build information (list details of parts): 2x SATA HDD with windows 7 OS on the first. will you be overclocking: yes (maybe later but not a neccasarily) Looking at buying these parts: intel i5 processor http://www.ebuyer.com/251596-intel-...b-cache-retail-boxed-processor-bx80623i52500k MSI P67A-GD53 (B3) http://www.ebuyer.com/261288-msi-p6...8-channel-audio-atx-motherboard-p67a-gd53-b3- Gigabyte GTX 560 1GB http://www.ebuyer.com/267865-gigaby...-gddr5-dual-dvi-mini-hdmi-pci-e-gv-n56goc-1gi RAM http://www.ebuyer.com/272181-kingst...u-memory-module-cl9-1-7-1-9v-khx1600c9d3b1-4g Need advice on the required Power Supply (will 650W be enough and which sort of connections does it need?) My friend told me that this forum was the best place for advice on PC builds. Thanks in advance.
That will serve you well. The i5 2500k would perform better, however, they are more expensive. 460~6850<560<6870<560TI. The Frio is a solid cooler. The 912 could be swapped for another case. 500Watts should be plenty. On a side note you came to the right place
If you stick with a Core i5 then it would be worth taking a look at a Z68 motherboard. You may want to read the review of the Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3 As Jaybles said 500W should be plenty as long as it is a good quality PSU. You may want to go a bit higher to allow for overclocking and component degradation.
