I have noticed on some computer full towers the external case tower tops have 'swiss cheese' holes / trays for fans and also include dashboard on top for switches and ports. Are there any full towers don't have 'swiss cheese holes' / trays or the dashboard on the top - both not there?
The "swiss cheese" holes are kind of essential for cooling chap. Something like the Fractal Design Define XL might be up your street... but it still has USB ports on top. Vexatious to the max.
Corsair 550D? Has a cover... But Swiss cheese is yummy. If my Swiss cheese smiled at me like ShirtYs does I would struggle to eat it .
Oooh schoolboy error, pete. Chap doesn't seem to register sensible suggestions If in doubt, look up some of his/her previous posts.
I've always thought Chap was a paragon of sensibility, Although I don't think anyone makes Swiss cheese computer cases
There is not one out there from the responses. Those mentioned have covers (for example, see images 2 and 4 for the Fractal-Design on the Scan internet site, http://www.scan.co.uk/products/frac...r-performance-xl-atx-case-with-usb-30-w-o-psu) for the holes and there is not a firm foundation surface on the top is there?
I THOUGHT CHAP WAS BANNED? AND IF NOT WHY NOT? BUT TO ANSWER THE QUESTION WHAT YOU NEED IS A LIAN LI PC-10N:COOLDUDE: OR IF YOU CAN'T GET ONE OF THOSE: EDIT: ALSO THIS
Lederhosen if you please. When I came upon this "Swiss Chesse" thread I immediately clocked it as cuckoo.
I am interested in metal case which is made from steel metal not aluminum metal. Lian Li cases I earlier read were not made from steel metal and are aluminum, have their policy changed?
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/nano...ultimate-low-noise-pc-case-usb-30-air-chimney You can choose whether to have the top vent open, in case you want to install a radiator in the top. Or closed like I have. Ignore the Bit Tech review, It performs much better than when they tested. http://www.anandtech.com/show/6479/nanoxia-deep-silence-1-case-review-you-asked-for-it-you-got-it (and it's made of steel)
Nanoxia Deep Silence One top cover is called chimney - it does not appear to provide a firm foundation? Also the port dashboard is one third along the top and not at the edge.
Wobbliness appears to be a problem with top covers / chimneys? "wobbly ˈwɒbli/ adjective adjective: wobbly; comparative adjective: wobblier; superlative adjective: wobbliest 1. tending to move unsteadily from side to side. "the car had a wobbly wheel" synonyms: unsteady, unstable, shaky, rocky, rickety; flimsy, frail, spindly, unsafe, precarious, insecure; uneven, unbalanced...."
Does the "chimney" cover pop out with some pressure to one of the edges? Probably it is similar to the Walkman sort cassette tape system - you push the thing and it opens.
not if you apply pressure from the top, It only pops out when you use the switch on the side, like it's supposed to. Also if it makes any difference the USB hub is less than a quarter distance from the edge. If you want the top to be completely flat then you could use a usb hub in the front bay?
