Noticed another little thing that's been happening for the last week and a half or so. When the forum clock strikes midnight or soon after, the servers suddenly become busy for 20- 40 minutes. Always at this time. Can anyone answer my silly little question? Kid
It happens to me too, and I've allways assumed it's just some sort of backup. I'll often then decide it's time to go to bed. And then forget that, and watch a few youtube videos. Then come back on here for another hour.
This has been happening for more than the last couple of weeks, it's been happening for at least a couple of years. Trying to post between ~00:20 and ~00:40 always seems to throw the error for me, although that window may increase constantly with the size of the database it's backing up.
For some reason it's been 0020 when I decide to dander over here almost every night for the last few weeks... My brain is synced to come here the one time of the day I can't do anything
Well the forum is currently archiving threads from 2002, so no wonder that the database backup takes a while.
I've been noticing this for a very very long time, but for me the timing is much less opportune occurring from 18:00-18:30 about my time the forum is pretty much inaccessible.
I can't help but think that if it was changed from 00:00 to something like 03:00 or something it would be less intrusive.
Well isn't having it at 00:00 (or there about) just as intrusive for Americans? That would put it around 16:00 to 19:00 for them. Depending on where they are.
